Over the years I have had the privilege of shooting many friends' weddings. It's an honor I take very seriously, so when my friend of Lord-knows-how-many-years, Kim, asked me to shoot her wedding I had to be prepared to capture every moment.
The only problem is, at the time she asked meto do so, I had no camera. I had recently decided to sell my previous one in order to upgrade. I placed my order immediately so I could be ready and well-practiced with the new camera for a wedding photography gig before her wedding, as well as for hers, which was to follow.
Since I am in Belize, shipping has to be done from the store to a US address and, then forwarded to Belize. I managed to screw up the US shipping address and my camera ended up in parts unknown.
After hours on the phone with customer service personnel from both the camera store and shipping company, I found out I needed to ship the camera back to the store in NYC and then start the process over. That would have royally screwed up my timing for the aforementioned wedding if not for Kim, who offered to receive the camera and bring it with her on a pre-wedding trip to Belize to visit and prepare for her wedding...the one we are talking about in this post.
That said, I recently shot Kim and her new husband, Ousmane's wedding and am pleased to share some photos shot on the camera Kim smuggled into Belize for me in her carry-on!
I met up with Kim first at a Beautiful residence in Belize City and shot some photos of her in her beautiful dress, which I later found out was dress 1 of 2 she would wear that night.
We then headed over to the venue, Old Belize Pavilion, where the ceremony and reception took place. I somehow managed to shoot over 1800 photos and a couple hundred video clips that night...here are some of the photos for your viewing pleasure.
